Gun crime is a reoccurring theme throughout and is a key convention to our genre. The screen grabs above are from the teaser trailers of 4, 3, 2, 1 and 1Day, as you can see in 1Day the actor is wearing a tracksuit which follows the connotations of the type of character being portrayed here. The first shot is a mid shot and is fairly powerful because it challenges the codes and conventions because she doesn't fit the profile of a gang member or stereotypically character to be using a gun. In our teaser trailer and possible for the ancillary tasks a gun will be necessary for both our storyline and genre. Social realist drama has to portray the sense of realism which is why the majority of these stories are set around real life statistics.
