We have had to consider what type of props to use that would be suitable for our storyline and genre. We will need:
- Replica Gun
This gun will be used by Steon and will be used in more than one scene. We will use shots of him holding it and hiding it in his jeans whilst going to pick up the drugs, this will help create a stereo cast over his character and the connotation of characters carrying a gun fits in with the social realist genre. However we may have a problem filming with this prop in public areas even though it is a toy/fake, to solve this we will be contacting the local police and informing them on our filming schedule and that a gun will be involved so they are aware of the situation in case any calls of concern are made.
- Corsa
We will be using Sophie's car during filming as a one of the main props, Steon will be filmed getting into it on his drive, again in the interior during the drug swap with Boss and later during the car chase.
- Black Holdall
The holdall will contain the drugs that Boss passes onto Steon, it is an important convention within our story. It represents the beginning of problems and events that happen later on.
- Fake Drugs
We will be making our own 'fake drugs' for our teaser trailer; these will be made out of flour to look like cocaine and then packaged up in cling film and sandwich bags. These drugs will only be filmed in the kitchen so there will be no need to contact the Police.
- Money
The money will also be a huge feature in our teaser trailer and used for the drug swap and meeting with boss.
Fortunately we will not be needing to purchase any of these props because they are props we own or have access too.
