This is my mock up for our magazine front cover, each group member produced their own mock up and then we will use ideas from each to create our final front cover. We have chosen the font type and image already. We decided on this mid shot of our main character and will be using this for our final magazine front cover too, we decided on this one because it shows the gun and suggests the genre, we also thought that the image is slightly intimidating similar to that of Adulthood's film poster with the gang which is what we have tried to recreate here. Also you have the idea of the character being front on to the audience in a direct manner which is typical of a film magazine front cover according to Empire and Total Film, whose front covers I previously analysed. The fonts I used were from dafont.com and I tested the possible fonts from our font test to see which works best. I used Photoshop to design this cover and used this task as a practice for when we come to produce our final front cover. I like the use of the arrow because of the magazine title, however next time I might experiment with its placement. The use of graffiti like writing is used as a connotation of the gangs that our a convention within this genre. Overall I think we could develop this mock up further and the cover lines and featured articles I have chosen are not the ones we will be using on our final magazine this is just to give an idea of where we might choose to place these.
