Mock up of Film Poster

This is my mock up of our film poster. We decided on the location because of the surroundings and the urban setting fits in with the conventions of this genre. Photoshop allowed us to darken and saturate the colour of the images to create this dreary, depressing scene. We decided on our fonts and used dafont.com to see how this font type would work against the film poster. As a group we are happy with the font although we have decided to experiment more with colour and the tagline both in its positioning and font. This is a basic idea in the layout of our film poster, however we have decided that a different location may work more effectively but overall we agreed that the body language of the characters and the information given works well.

Mock up of Magazine Front Cover

This is my mock up for our magazine front cover, each group member produced their own mock up and then we will use ideas from each to create our final front cover. We have chosen the font type and image already. We decided on this mid shot of our main character and will be using this for our final magazine front cover too, we decided on this one because it shows the gun and suggests the genre, we also thought that the image is slightly intimidating similar to that of Adulthood's film poster with the gang which is what we have tried to recreate here. Also you have the idea of the character being front on to the audience in a direct manner which is typical of a film magazine front cover according to Empire and Total Film, whose front covers I previously analysed. The fonts I used were from dafont.com and I tested the possible fonts from our font test to see which works best. I used Photoshop to design this cover and used this task as a practice for when we come to produce our final front cover. I like the use of the arrow because of the magazine title, however next time I might experiment with its placement. The use of graffiti like writing is used as a connotation of the gangs that our a convention within this genre. Overall I think we could develop this mock up further and the cover lines and featured articles I have chosen are not the ones we will be using on our final magazine this is just to give an idea of where we might choose to place these.
